Symbolic contribution to architecture

My experience design approach can be described as a symbolic contribution to architecture, to its acoustic self-understanding and its site specific human interaction awareness:
-> in order to inform architecture and assist it in its imaginary visions, its material planning assumptions and priorities;
-> therefore stimulating architecture to re-consider itself as a dynamic and permutable process, expressive and multiple-referenced, diachronically and synchronically consistent, in order to respond to the strong demand for transformable contexts, continuosly re-readable, “sensitive and responsive” to the transformations of inhabitants and wider community’s needs.
The balance between material construction and dynamic expression, between art and local functionality, materiality and immateriality is a matter of planning and design ecology.

Lighting Video Architectures designed and edited by Sara Meloni, Giovanni Conti, Lorenzo Brusci

photographs by Marcin Gierat; videos by Filip Molski.

For the sound diffusion on the “Transition Room: pure sound pure light” we installed a Sonic Small Terracotta YoYo from the Giardino Sonoro collection 2005. Producer: Associazione Fornaci Storiche Impruneta (FI) (IT)

Additional field recordings contributions by Davide Tidoni

aim: to narrate space, ancient, present and future lives, related to the site and to the town’s history, through out sound and music articulated in a multi-sensorial environment. The lighting video architectures are the metaphor of the site’s future vocation: they are designed processing both 3d renderings from the new museum project and past/present pictures of the Schindler’s Factory.
