Narrative and poetical spaces

With the passage of time, sites and events become estranged from one
another. Architectural sites remain ever-present, in their material setting,
present interposed subtly between places and their past.

We want to conceive acts of memory. Re-infusing the sites with a sense of their past and
of their continuous ‘making future’.

A) Acts of narrative memory inside architecture. Acts of listening,
suggestioning, multi-contextualizing, opening the place to its dynamic,
living virtuality:

1- we are trying to redefine a human habitat through the art of words
composition - between narration and the essential world making metaphoric power of poetry:
urban contexts, public buildings and private housing could count on the
ability of poetry to rethink and free a human habitat, relocating
attentions, keeping and recalling the intensity of significant events, enhancing areas and enforcing the semantic attitude of everyday space usage;

2 - experiences based on word signals; how a word signal can induce a dynamic, changing spatial understanding; word design and communication

The Villa Strozzi Upside Down Bamboo tree, Firenze. Timet/Giardino Sonoro, 2004.

This area of the Villa Strozzi park was significantly stimulated by the e-story telling emitted from the ’sonic tree’. Narrations and sound effects were based on the reneissance Luisa Strozzi’s biography.

The bench underneath has been intensively used by people of all ages for all the summer period. The exhibition was curated by Lucia Minunno fro the Contemporary Art Center “Le Papesse”, Siena.

B) Sound processing poet’s voices; bringing its expressive architecture at readers’ home:

1) composing sound-scapes based on poet’s readings; considering the sound-scapes like sonic resonances and spatial implications of the poetical living articulation and prosody;

2) we suggest their listening while privately reading the book: sound environments for metaphoric silences - producing a virtuous and metaphoric counter phasing media noise abatement.
